After our first dog, Calliope, died we were looking for a companion for Cleo and we heard that there were shih tzu puppies available at the NEAS and so we drove down and I stood outside the doors for over 2 hours in the cold waiting for the doors to open. When they did we got to go inside and I saw Athena in the way back. (Her name was Tinker bell at the time). She was the smallest pup in there weighing in at 3lbs! Super cute. She was playing with her brother, which whom now when we look back, we wish we would’ve adopted him as well… I grabbed her card and asked to meet her with my family… At first she was shy but she immediately warmed up and started kissing us like crazy and trying to play with Cleo. I have 4 guinea pigs at home and she loves them to death, and they love her too! They cuddle and groom each other, it’s adorable! Athena is the funniest, cutest, sweetest, weirdest puppy I’ve met and I wouldn’t want her any other way. I’m sure the rest of my household feels the same.
